Special
Interest & clubs.
With
nearly 14,000 items in the collection of the Caboolture
Historical Village there is sure to be something that is
of special interest to every visitor.
Quilting
and Lacework
If quilting,
lacework and linen are a hobby, then we are
sure you will appreciate the work that has gone into some
of our items that date back nearly 150 years. A quilt dated
1895 and made up of thousands of individually quilted hexagons
is a fabulous piece and never fails to please.
Transport
Museum
Our
newly opened Transport Museum,
built with a Federation grant, is the home of some of our
restored horse drawn carts/buggies and vehicles. A particular
gem in this collection is the completely restored 1926 Chevrolet
Truck. The truck arrived at the Village as a rusted heap
and now - after many hours of toil by volunteers - it is
a shining example of early transport.
Maritime
Museum
The
Maritime Museum
is the home of the models of the first fleet. This collection
has been painstakingly researched and built by Las. It is
a source of wonderment to many visitors - some of which
travel large distances just to see it - and the envy of
other Maritime Museums.
