2018 Australia Day – Activities, Food and More….
January 26th is coming up fast and the folk at the Village are busy planning another great Australia Day event for all.
It is one of the biggest days of the calendar for the Village and there is a lot being planned. Invite your family and friends to help us make it the biggest day yet.
Gates open at 9:00 am sharp.
Adults – $10 and Children under 16 FREE!
Plenty of parking at QSEC via Tuckeroo Drive with a gold coin donation to the Caboolture & District Woodcrafters.
The Dairy refurbishment is almost complete and although not quite finished the 1955 Club Diner Car Rail Carriage and adjacent deck will be open on the day.
Got a sweet tooth then look for the Fudge lady at the main building or go to the Ye Old Lolly shop opposite the station and next to our own Goat Soap lady who makes her product on the premises and offers many beautiful gift packs for sale.
Hotel & Entertainment
The Country Pub opens at 10:00 am and with the help of Blarney Stone Irish Bush Band will keep hopping till late in the afternoon. A great group of entertainers, one of the Village favourites.
Two beers on tap from the Thirsty Chiefs plus our normal selection.
The Caboolture Kilties, our own pipe band of many years will be there to stir the memories and play lots of old favourites.
Our famous re-enactments, not necessarily noted for their accuracy in historical facts but very much noted for the noise, smoke and entertainment. Bushrangers also prowl the site from their lair looking for the poor victims of their strange brand of humour. Always entertaining.
Blackie and Josie are ready for an influx of visitors, so come along and see them in person.
Snags on a slice of bread topped by soft brown onions – delicious, supplied by our good friends at the Longyard Beef Company at Bellmere and Ningi.
We will have hamburgers this year cooked with tlc by our friends from Morayfield Lions.
Our Parade of the variety of vehicles you only normally see in books but these are working machines lovingly restored by their owners and the Village Restoration group.
This year will be the axemen outside the Axeman’s Hall of Fame doing some demos plus allowing visitors to have a go at the crosscut saw.
Toad races, don’t know how it works?
Come along, lease a steed and see if you can win the gold.
