The Caboolture Historical Village is proud to present Heritage Day on Saturday 22 July 2023!

Heritage Day is designed to educate and connect people to local history, demonstrate traditional methods used to build, make, bake and create, and show the skilled art forms of craftsmen and craftswomen of yesterday. In addition, we are including elements of our Flora and Fauna in wildlife specialist animal rescue groups and Landcare.

With a historical village filled with buildings full of period history it is the perfect backdrop for such an event. It will be defined by the period of time predating 1945 to showcase vintage and veteran elements. There are many different demonstrations, re-enactments and displays such as textile crafts, vintage cars, vintage motorcycles, antique machinery, foundry work, woodwork, Luthiery, whittling and a local art display just to name a few. So much to see – you won’t know where to look!

To set the atmosphere alight some of our volunteers and a number of participants will be in costume and the wonderful steampunk community will be present to fuel your vintage imagination! Explore the vintage market, watch the constabulary of old take down a very famous bushranger, buy some old-fashioned candy and ginger beer and feast on the days of old.

The event will include live entertainment in the form of a live band, traditional dancers, re-enactments, pony show, dog demonstrations and whip cracking with two parades throughout the day. There are also some very special elements of entertainment that will be unique to this event. Kids will have many opportunities to try their hand at some old skills and see how machines used to get the job done. Keep an eye on our posts to see what we have in store for you.

Mark the date in your calendar and we look forward to seeing you on Heritage Day!
